Ignore your satnav! For the easiest and most beautiful drive, please follow this route:

- From the M6 (junction 36), head west on A591.
- Take first exit on to the A590.
- Follow the road to Greenodd and then head north on the A5092 to Lowick and then the A5084 to Torver.
- Turn left onto the A593 to Coniston.

We are signposted on the bridge in the centre of the village.

Turn left and go up the hill.
